The Patient Care Fund (PCF) was established in 2007 to provide financial assistance to Access to Healthcare Medical Discount members, uninsured individuals in our community, who are unable to completely pay for their healthcare needs. Even at our vastly reduced rates, we recognized early on that our families may not have the financial means to cover the cost of care and would need some form of financial assistance to about the services they need to become and stay healthy.

The formation of the Patient Care Fund has allowed Access to Healthcare to form partnerships with various funding sources ranging from the State of Nevada, Susan G. Komen, and the Redfield Foundation to assist our members in paying for necessary healthcare services. In accordance with the shared responsibility model that is the backbone of our Medical Discount Program these funds can be used to subsidize up to 50% of the cost of healthcare services at our discounted rates for various populations of individuals.

For instance:

  • A woman diagnosed with breast cancer can access financial assistance from the Patient Care Fund to pay for her course of treatment including radiation and chemotherapy
  • A child diagnosed with a physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability can access financial assistance to pay for services designed to improve their quality of life
  • A man who requires a hernia surgery in order to go back to work but cannot afford the cost of care can obtain the financial assistance that completely change the course of their life
